Holistic mental health treatment, grounded in clinical care.

A six-bed mental health facility for women where holistic and clinical care work side by side.

Structure with room to breathe.

Each week includes individual and group therapy, psychiatry and medication management, acupuncture, movement, and time outdoors. Most stays last around 30 days. The program provides a dependable rhythm while remaining responsive to what each client needs.

  • Individual therapy grounded in Somatic Experiencing. Regular one-on-one sessions with our therapist, who is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Sessions address thoughts and emotions while also helping you notice patterns of nervous system activation and develop greater capacity for regulation.

  • Group therapy. Facilitated work with other women who are navigating their own mental health and healing.

  • Movement. Guided practices that help you reconnect with your body and develop habits you can continue at home.

  • Time outdoors. Nature walks and intentional time outside woven into the program's weekly rhythm.

  • Psychiatry and medication management. Evaluation and ongoing support from our psychiatrist and nurse.

  • Acupuncture and holistic care. Eastern practices thoughtfully integrated with the broader treatment plan.

  • Movement that settles you

Somatic and movement practices help you recognize how stress and emotion show up in your nervous system, not only in your thoughts. Through guided practice, you begin to notice what activates you, what helps you settle, and which tools you can carry into daily life after treatment.

  • An acupuncturist on the clinical team

Acupuncture is offered as part of the broader treatment experience at Mental Health Residential. Our acupuncturist works alongside the clinical and medical team so that each part of care remains connected to the client's overall treatment plan.

  • Time under the pines

Time outdoors is woven into the daily rhythm here, not saved for an occasional break from the program. Walking, movement, and quiet time beneath the pines create opportunities to slow down, notice what is present, and practice feeling grounded outside the therapy room.

Before you call

  • What does a typical day at Mental Health Residential look like?

Each day at Mental Health Residential is structured without being rigid. Mornings always begin with movement, and the rest of the day balances individual therapy with our Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, clinical groups, case management, psychiatry, and services such as Tai Chi, acupuncture, breathwork, and meditation. The Idyllwild setting is used actively through walks, hikes, forest-based activities, outings, and time in the local community, so clients are not confined to the house throughout their stay. Breakfast is provided, and our chef prepares lunch and dinner daily, with room throughout the day for rest, community, and the ordinary routines of residential life. The exact schedule changes from day to day, but the goal stays consistent: treatment, movement, nature, nourishment, and 24/7 residential support working together as one connected experience.

  • How long do clients stay?

Most clients stay for around 30 days. The appropriate length depends on your clinical needs, progress, and insurance coverage. We discuss this with you before admission and continue reviewing it throughout your stay.

We see you as whole. We give you the tools to carry your journey forward.
